Write the story of your Grandpa. How did he get to China? How did he get back? When and why did he come back to China after retiring?

Vocabulary

Race, Ethnicity, Nationality – most general to most specific
e.g. European and African are “races”
e.g. Ethnicity is more general, like 华人
e.g. The country you are a citizen

Class – your place in society
e.g. The usual story in a Korean TV show, is that two people of different classes fall in love, and their families object to the relationship.

Stereotypical – not just normal, but almost like something is everywhere, or that something is not creative anymore
e.g. The stories about inter-class relationships are now almost stereotypical of Korean TV (when anyone thinks of Korean TV now, they think of this kind of story!)

Grammar

Talked a lot of topics – talked about a lot of topics

He haven’t done it yet – he hasn’t finished it yet

Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great-Great Grandfather

He retired his job – he retired from his job

They have a little talk – they talked a little, they had a little talk
— “A talk” has a specific purpose; to “talk a little” is just to have some conversation

Didn’t get well education – he wasn’t well educated / didn’t get a good education
