Write a story using “hope” and “wish,” focusing on the difference between the two.
Perhaps there are places you hope/wish you could go, or things you hope/wish you were able to do (languages, instruments, art, sports, etc.)

Vocabulary

Hope vs. Wish
— Hope means that the thing you want to happen is possible.
— Wish means that the thing you want to happen is unlikely or even impossible.
e.g. I hope I can go (it’s not sure, but I might be able to go, and I want to)
e.g. I wish I could go (I cannot go, though I want to).
— And the verb “can” reflects this. In the first sentence, the present tense “can” is talking about the future as possible. In the second, the past tense of can, “could,” shows that the future is not possible.

Remember get vs. have:
— State vs. change
e.g. I have water.
e.g. I am going to get water.
e.g. I need to get some sleep (to go from tired to rested).

Grammar

Such vs. So
— “Such” is used with nouns
e.g. She is such an angel.
e.g. He is such a good person.
— So is used directly with adjectives.
e.g. He so good at speaking English.
e.g. She is so tall.

Remember the “negative” words for when you disagree, or also don’t have something, don’t feel something, etc.
e.g. Neither, either, nor, any, etc.

When you use the past to talk about the present or future, it shows that something is unlikely of impossible.
e.g. I wish he had a different haircut (too late to change it now, though it’s a present state).

I think understanding is the most important personality trait in a boyfriend. Actually, one of the reasons why we broke up was that both of us were not understanding towards each other. He didn’t reply to my messages for in a period, which made me really confused and angry. But I ignored that he was busy in that time and had no time to reply me.He was exhausted because of heavy workload and didn’t have enough sleep. But he didn’t tell me that until we broke up.

My parents wish i can find an honest ,diligent and filial man to be my husband. They think honest is the basic traits of a person. My future husband don’t need too rich but must be diligent that can earn more money by hard-working. Also they think the man who is filial must be full of love and can take care of me very well.
