Look for comics in English, like Calvin and Hobbes, and look for slang terms that you don’t understand.
Vocabulary
Turn the whole place upside down – to look everywhere for something, moving everything in the room
e.g. When we lost our car keys, we turned the whole place upside down trying to find them.
Distinct – to be different from other things; unique
e.g. The university’s English-language website is not very distinct from other ones.
Distinguished – to look like someone worthy of respect and admiration
e.g. The old man’s way speaking shows us that he is a distinguished, experienced man.
Structural Supports – something inside of a larger structure that helps it to hold a shape
e.g. The large statue of Mao at ECNU has a special system of structural supports to allow him to wave his hand in that way.
Alternate – to switch back and forth between two things
e.g. The novel alternates between the 1960’s and the 1990’s.
Grammar

They will add some materials – They will add some material
— Material refers to some substance in general
e.g. ideas for a play, steel, rubber
— So “material” is only plural when you have multiple substances
e.g. We order the construction materials.
