In a future class, we should listen to Steve Jobs commencement address at Stanford. It covers many of the topics we discussed today, and we can do listening exercises based on what he said.

midlife crisis / usually around the age 40-50, you make crazy decisions

e.g. He had a midlife crisis and left his wife and children.

It’s important for me to have new experiences, but I don’t want to “go off the deep end” / get so crazy that I break the law and lose all of my friendships and lose all my money

I “burned many bridges” / I destroyed many friendships and business relationships and now I can’t return back to those friendships…I can’t return “over that bridge”
