Vocabulary
before “recorded history” / history that’s written
ancient history / the oldest history that we have record for…usually people talk about Rome, or the Roman Empire.
e.g. The Roman Empire was enormous and very powerful.
oral tradition / passing down your people’s history though spoken word (e.g stories, and poems, and songs)
written history / passing down your people’s history through writings.
e.g. The Ming Dynasty left us written records.
equal vs. unequal / not the same (money, education, housing)
unequal / inequality
e.g. If things are unequal in a society, there is much inequality.
rest vs. unrest / turmoil, craziness, not peaceful
Vocabulary
controversial 争议 / something that might upset or offend someone
e.g. In America, topics on race can be very controversial.
e.g. They don’t want to talk about this controversial topic.
politically incorrect / unpopular opinion
keep peace / make things peaceful
work ethic
