Putting vocabulary into practice right away. Next class, let’s try and use some of the new vocabulary.

Vocabulary

listen to some famous person…good performance an economic area / listen to some economic experts

what things will happen in the future / predict what will happen in the future

the press / the news, media, newspapers

“take it with a grain of salt” / this means don’t take what I am about to say, too seriously.

estate / this is a family’s home, wealth, everything that can be passed on after death.

fake news / people don’t trust the news

“long story short…” / it’s a lot of information, I don’t want to bore you, so I will make it much shorter.

“if I might add…” 

e.g. Thank you for your thoughts, if I might add….

system 体制 / 

lion’s nature / man’s nature

hypocrisy 虚伪 / a fake surface…or you say you do one thing, but you act another way in private.

e.g. People who commit hypocrisy; we call them hypocrites.

“at the end of the day…” / this is another way of saying “in conclusion…” or “here’s the most important thing to remember”

cease / to stop, to end

relocation / to change locations

territory / the land that you control

patriot / compatriot
