Let’s try and use the pronuciation words as often as possible to practice them.

Vocabulary

personnel 人员 — people from a workplace that do a certain/specific job.

e.g. Our company recently had big personel changes.

dating — this is how men and women will go for coffee or dinner, to get to know one another — and maybe…if things go well, they become boyfriend/girlfriend and then maybe they will get married.

e.g. The dating scene/environment is very interesting and busy in Shanghai.

introduce 介绍

cyber — this means technology usually like computers or TVs.

e.g. In America yesterday it was cyber Monday — where you could buy cyber-related things like computers and TVs.

spirit 精神 — how does someone seem…like what feelings do they give you when you talk to them.

e.g. I met Thea for the first tie and she seemed like a person with a very kind spirit.

e.g. After Thanksgiving in America, people have the warm Christmas spirit — they are generous and love spending time with their family. It’s a happy time.

siblings = brothers or sister

e.g. Thea was born in 1990, so during this time, you could only have one child in China— so…she has no siblings.

Grammar

Are Americans crazy like Chienese peopel to buy something (pronunciation – somesing)…when it comes to shopping.

e.g. We use “when it comes to…” it means tell me something about this particular topic.

e.g. When it comes to dating, do Shanghainese girls like going to coffee or dinner?

e.g. When it comes to learning, do Chinese people like to learn by themselves or with a teacher?

e.g. When it comes to shopping do Americans like to buy online or in the store?

Only one HR is me. [In our HR department, we only have one employee — that’s me.]

In Chinese China we only have one child. But now we can have two children.

I don’t need to waste money to buy something (p). It is unnecessary because of cheap. Because it’s cheap I will buy a lot of things that is/are unnecessary to for me. But if I go abraod to go traveling I will buy a lot of things to bring back…such as clothes, shoes, cosmetics and bags.

On In October, I went to travel New Zealand with my friends for 14 days. The natural scenery is was very beautiful.

High school classmates my friends is are my high school classmates. We try to skydiving We tried skydiving, but after that I will never try it again. I’m frightened by it. We took a small plane to 20,000 feet — it’s the highest feet [altitude] but while decreasing [descending] I felt hard to breathe It was difficult/hard for me to breathe and I got a pain (pen) in my ears, if I saw the views around me I also felt dizzy. So I was uncomfortable about it. So try once it’s enough to me. I bought a movie dat (that) is a person with me to skydiving to take a movie for me. Nervous. But I dont think anything more. Did you before try somethign like skydiving.

My grandpa and grandma were not Shanghainse (good!). They came from … because the war — the Japan attack us — because of the war they went to Shanghai. here was ssafe in that [time].
