F2F Class Notes (Nemo)[W]

To Nemo,

As we talked about Chernobyl last weekend, I watched Chernobyl after class.
Omg, this was so desperate. Even as I sat across the screen, the feeling of suffocation lingered over me. I can even feel the radiation.
All of us now know how dangerous that nuclear explosion was, but neither the people nor the government at the time understood it, or denied it. So when the explosion happened, people still went about their business, children danced and played in the dust of the explosion. One woman leaned her husband’s shoulder and said: it’s beautiful.
When disaster strikes, the first response is to run away, not face it, and deny the truth. I can understand that. People are always weak in the face of disaster. But worse than disaster are lies and deceit. People were get hurt more because of the govermant’s lies.
Let’s talk about this today!
Thank you!
