Vocabulary

assertion (n): 1-a statement that you strongly believe is true:
E.g.: I certainly don’t agree with his assertion that men are better drivers than women.

tackle (v): 1-to try to deal with something or someone:
E.g.: There are many ways of tackling this problem.

filter (n): 1-any of several types of equipment or devices for removing solids from liquids or gases, or for removing particular types of light:
E.g.: a water filter
E.g.: a dust filter

foul (adj): 1-extremely unpleasant:
E.g.: Those toilets smell foul!
E.g.: I’ve had a foul day at work.

remedy (n)a successful way of curing an illness or dealing with a problem or difficulty:
E.g.: an effective herbal remedy for headaches
E.g.: The best remedy for grief is hard work.

tout (v): to advertise, talk about, or praise something or someone repeatedly, especially as a way of encouraging people to like, accept, or buy something:
E.g.: The minister has been touting these ideas for some time.
E.g.: He is being widely touted as the next CEO of the company.

designate (v):1-to say officially that a place or thing has a particular character or purpose:
E.g. :This area of the park has been specially designated for children.
E.g. :They officially designated the area (as) unsuitable for human habitation.
2-to choose someone officially to do a particular job:
E.g. : She has been designated to organize the meeting.

perceive (v): 1-to come to an opinion about something, or have a belief about something:
E.g. :How do the French perceive the British?
E.g. :Women’s magazines are often perceived to be superficial.
