Watch a Movie vs See a Movie

We watched a movie yesterday.
This would imply we watched a movie at home (TV/DVD…)

We saw a movie yesterday.
This would imply that we did so by going to a movie theater/cinema. We can also explicitly say that we went to the movie theater and watched Ice Age.

shopping mall (n): 商场
E.g.: My brother’s going to the shopping mall with his friends.

roast (v):to cook food in an oven or over a fire

E.g.: Just roast the chicken in the oven and baste it in oil and lemon.

commute (v): 通勤, to make the same journey regularly between work and home
E.g.: It’s exhausting commuting from Brighton to London every day.
每天上下班要往返于布赖顿与伦敦之间，令人疲惫不堪。
E.g.: (N) It’s at least an hour’s commute to work.
上班路上至少要花1个小时。

spicy (adj):containing strong flavors from spices

E.g.: Do you like spicy food?

on and off-If something happens on and off during a period of time, it happens sometimes.
时断时续地；间歇地
E.g.: I’ve had toothache on and off for a couple of months.
我的牙断断续续疼了几个月。

loan (n):an amount of money that is borrowed, often from a bank, and has to be paid back, usually together with an extra amount of money that you have to pay as a charge for borrowing

E.g.: She’s trying to get a $50,000 loan to start her own business.
