bid (n): 1-an offer of a particular amount of money for something that is for sale出价,喊价
E.g.: I made a bid of $150 for the painting.
我出价150美元买这幅画。

bid (v): 1-to offer a particular amount of money for something that is for sale and compete against other people to buy it, especially at a public sale of goods or property(尤指在拍卖中)出价,喊价竞买
E.g.: She knew she couldn’t afford it, so she didn’t bid.
她知道买不起,所以没有出价。
E.g.: A foreign collector has bid $500,000 for the portrait.

bidder (n): 1-出价的人someone who offers to pay a particular amount of money for something
E.g.: In an auction, goods or property are sold to the highest bidder (= the person who offers the most money).
