gear (n): 1-挡
E.g.: Does your car have five or six gears?
E.g.: I couldn’t find reverse gear.

passive aggressive -showing an unwillingness to be helpful or friendly, without expressing your anger openly:
E.G.: passive-aggressive behavior

subtle (adj): 1-not loud, bright, noticeable, or obvious in any way:
E.g.: The room was painted a subtle shade of pink.
E.g.: The movie’s message is perhaps too subtle to be understood by young children.

insult (n): 1-an offensive remark or action:
E.g.: She made several insults about my appearance.
E.g.: The instructions are so easy they are an insult to your intelligence (= they seem to suggest you are not clever if you need to use them).

insult (v): 1- to say or do something to someone that is rude or offensive:
E.g.: First he drank all my wine and then he insulted all my friends.

undermine (v): 1- to make someone less confident, less powerful, or less likely to succeed, or to make something weaker, often gradually:
E.g.: He’s been trying to undermine her position by spreading rumors about her.
E.g.: If you continually criticize children you can seriously undermine their confidence.

procrastinate (v): 1-拖延;耽搁;延迟If you procrastinate, you keep leaving things you should do until later, often because you do not want to do them.
E.g.: Most often we procrastinate when faced with something we do not want to do.面对不想做的事情,我们经常拖延。

postpone (v): 1-to delay an event and plan or decide that it should happen at a later date or time:
E.g.: They decided to postpone their holiday until next year.
E.g.: [ + -ing verb ] We’ve had to postpone going to France because the children are ill.

sabotage (v): 1-to intentionally prevent the success of a plan or action:
E.g.: This was a deliberate attempt to sabotage the negotiations.

redundant (adj): 1-having lost your job because your employer no longer needs you:
E.g.: To keep the company alive, half the workforce is being made redundant.
E.g.: New technology often makes old skills redundant.
