Vocabulary

loud (adj,adv): 1- making a lot of noise:
E.g.: a loud explosion/noise/voice
E.g.: I heard a loud bang and then saw black smoke.
E.g.: Could you speak a little louder, please?

quiet (adj): 1-making very little noise:
E.g.: She spoke in a quiet voice so as not to wake him.
E.g.: It’s so quiet without the kids here.
E.g.: Please be quiet (= stop talking)!

The opposite of loud is quiet

opposite (n, adj): 1-something or someone that is completely different from another person or thing:
E.g.: My father is a very calm person, but my mother is just the opposite.
E.g.: The opposite of “fast” is “slow”.
