Vocabulary

damp (adj) : 1-slightly wet, especially in a way that is not pleasant or comfortable:
E.g.: The grass is still damp.
E.g.: This shirt still feels a bit damp.
E.g.: It was a damp, misty morning.
E.g.: The room was damp and smelly so we opened all the windows and gave it a good airing .

metaphor (n): 1-an expression, often found in literature, that describes a person or object by referring to something that is considered to have similar characteristics to that person or object:
E.g.: “The mind is an ocean” and “the city is a jungle” are both metaphors.
E.g.: Metaphor and simile are the most commonly used figures of speech in everyday language.

metaphorical (adj): 1-Metaphorical language contains metaphors:
E.g.: Her second novel is written in a very metaphorical style.

fate (n): 1-what happens to a particular person or thing, especially something final or negative, such as death or defeat:
E.g.: We want to decide our own fate.
E.g.: His fate is now in the hands of the jury.
E.g.: The disciples were terrified that they would suffer/meet the same fate as Jesus.
​2-a power that some people believe causes and controls all events, so that you cannot change or control the way things will happen:
E.g.: When we met again by chance in Cairo, I felt it must be fate.
E.g.: Fate has brought us together.

atheism (n): 1-the belief that God does not exist

agnostic (n): 1-someone who does not know, or believes that it is impossible to know, if a god exists:
E.g.: Although he was raised a Catholic, he was an agnostic for most of his adult life.
