Vocabulary

addiction (n): an inability to stop doing or using something, especially something harmful:
drug addiction
E.g.: his addiction to alcohol
E.g.: For people with OCD, cleaning can become an addiction.

addictive (adj): An addictive activity or food is one that you cannot stop doing or eating once you have started.
(活动或食品)使人上瘾的,使人入迷的
E.g.: The problem with video games is that they’re addictive.
电子游戏的问题在于它们会使人上瘾。
E.g.: These nuts are addictive – I can’t stop eating them.
这些坚果让人上瘾,我一吃就停不住嘴。

obvious (adj): easy to see, recognize, or understand

E.g.: It’s obvious (that) she doesn’t like him.

obviously (adv): in a way that is easy to understand or see

dry (adj)(BORING)-disapproving
If a book, talk, subject, etc. is dry, it is not interesting.

contradiction  (n): the fact of something being the complete opposite of something else or very different from something else, so that one of them must be wrong

E.g.: You say that you’re good friends and yet you don’t trust him. Isn’t that a contradiction?
