Vocabulary

Pledged – to promise
eg. He

Rife – When there is a lot of something
eg. San Francisco is rife with homeless people

Lax – not strict
eg. China is very lax on traffic violation.

Accusation – to say someone did something wrong
eg. The accusations against the president were very serious.

Allegation (Alleged)

Ensuing – following
eg. After the death of Saddam Hussein, the ensuing chaos in Iraq made some people question the intellegence of removing him in the first place.

Outcry – negative public response

Swift – quick
eg. She didnt even have to think, she responded with a swift ”No”

Venerated – a person who is popular, celebrated
eg. Anthony Bourdain was a venerated chef and entertainer.


General opinions of American political parties. 

Democrats – Pro gay marriage, pro gun control, pro choice, better social programs

Republicans – anti gay marriage, anti gun control, pro life (anti abortion), lower taxes
