My main priorities for improving my English ability are: first of all/firstly, grammar because I think my grammar is very weak. My first reaction when I respond is: I want to deliver my message/communicate my idea, but I lack grammatical structure/sentence logic. My second priority is to become more fluent and improve my pronunciation. I’ve only spent two years in the UK and before that, I had no chance to use English.

So when they communicate, I can speak well in a business context when we have some meetings, but after work, when we have to socialise,  I don’t really know what to say/talk about/how to communicate with them about everyday topics.

Paris and Switzerland. I did not plan well because one holiday I had previously planned to go to Canada but then my visa was cancelled/nullified. 

I struggle a little to understand their accent but I usually research beforehand before I travel there. For me as well, it took me half a year. Some are from the UK and some are from European countries and some from Malaysia and Singapore.

In the advertising industry, there are lots of/many opportunities to use English because many foreign companies are headquartered in America or the UK. But my current work situation is/my current work scope/job responsibility is, I contact my local clients and my company is headquartered in LA so I have to communicate with my LA colleagues. But, I haven’t spoken with them I just write emails often. When I’m writing emails, I can think about whether my grammar is correct or not. I can proofread my email or use a dictionary to see if my grammar is correct. But, when it comes to speaking, I don’t have the time for that.
