When I came to Shanghai two years ago I thought it is a big city.  for everything. The traffic is heavy because there are many cars. And it takes long time from one place to the other place because the city is big. I also felt the pace of life here is very fast. Everyone here is busy. Meanwhile there are lots of pressures which I don’t like. But in the other side, everyone is hardworking and aspiring. Although I like my quiet and small hometown, I still choose to stay in Shanghai because I think it’s a good place for young peoples who have pursues.

I felt that it’s crowded everywhere, you have to queue up for everything. The (traffic) congestion is always heavy because there are many cars, therefore it takes a long time from one place to another since the city is big. I also felt the pace of life here is very fast. Everyone here is busy. Meanwhile there are lots of pressure which I don’t like. I like the fact that everyone is hardworking and aspiring/ motivating. Although I like my quiet and small hometown, I still choose to stay in Shanghai because I think it’s a good place for ambitious young people.

Cosmetic Surgery

Three Chinese women cannot leave a South Korean airport because their passport photos do not match their faces. The women just had cosmetic surgery. It changed their faces so much that passport officers cannot confirm their identity. Their faces were still swollen and bandaged. A website said the women were not allowed on their return flight to China. They were held for questioning at the airport. It is still unclear when the women can go back to China.

South Korea is the world’s cosmetic surgery capital. Cosmetic surgery tourism from China is huge. Over 500,000 Chinese people go to South Korean clinics each year. Many clinics specialize in the “Western” look. This is very popular with young South Korean women. Many parents encourage their children to have surgery so they look better in the job market.
