1 frightened= very very scared

ex: Many people are frightened of darkness.

2. harmless= no harm, not dangerous

ex: babies, turtles are harmless.

3. clown= man dressed up in costume and makeup (big red nose)

ex: You can see a clown in a circus/ amusement park.

4. phobias= irrational fear

fear of holes- trypophobia

fear of being in a small enclosed space- claustrophobia

fear of height- acrophobia

ex: we all have different phobias.

5. irrational= without reason

ex: It’s easy for young girls to make irrational decisions

Young girls tend to argue with their boyfriends irrationally.

We can be frightened for all kinds of reasons; some are logical, such as a fear of snakes which might bite you, but people can be frightened of all sorts of  things, many of them harmless: clowns, butterflies, clocks, moonlight. We call them phobias, and there are long lists of these phobias, most of them seemingly totally irrational.  However, not all fears can be classed as phobias, and we have lots of different words to describe fear, and even ways to describe the people who experience these feelings.

It’s a boring Chinese New Year, because in Shanghai, no firework, no firecrackers, you can’t feel the atmosphere of the new year. After you have the child, you need to take after child by yourself. I don’t like festival. If we want to have a trip, the price is also expensive than ordinary days. During the working days, my mother and my wife’s mother will take care of my daughter, but in spring festival, they need to have a rest, so I need to take care of daughter by myself. I think it’s really tired than work. After she goes to kindergarten, maybe we will have more time for ourselves.
