Reading

Twitter is aĀ social networkĀ that allows users to send andĀ receiveĀ shortĀ messagesĀ , called tweets. Tweets can be up to 140Ā charactersĀ long. You can send tweets from your computer or even from your mobile phone. While some social networking services are likeĀ FacebookĀ or MySpace are moreĀ complicatedĀ Twitter isĀ fairlyĀ simple to use. To send orĀ receiveĀ messages you just have toĀ createĀ an account on Twitter. You can only send text to twitter,Ā imagesĀ are not allowed.

Twitter users can follow what other people post. It makes you feel a part of someone elseā€™s life . People all over the world talk about all kinds ofĀ topicsĀ .

In most cases Twitter is made up of many small groups of people. Sometimes only they can follow each otherā€™sĀ movementsĀ . You couldĀ postĀ ā€œHey, Iā€™m going to the pubā€ , and all of your friends could read itĀ at onceĀ .

Your messages on Twitter can be private, meaning only your friends can read them or you could make themĀ publicĀ , meaning they can be seen by everyone.

Twitter is used for many things. You canĀ postĀ anĀ upcoming eventĀ , organize group conversations or just tell the world what youā€™re doing at the moment. You can also use twitterĀ insteadĀ of sending many SMSā€™s to different people . Just post your messages on Twitter and everyone else can see them.

Many peopleĀ updateĀ their Twitter status very often, sometimes even aĀ coupleĀ of times an hour.Ā RecentlyĀ , Twitter has also been used inĀ businessĀ . Companies use twitter to inform people about new products or just to post something that isĀ on saleĀ .
