Vocabulary

(I) got lighter = my skin color is “whiter”

tan= darker skin color ( don’t say black)

ex: he is very tanned.

ex: I don’t want to be tanned, so I never go under the sun.

useless= no use

ex: We always worry about useless things.

calculate (verb): to work out the numbers (ji suan)

ex: I always calculate how much money i have left near the end of the month.

calculator (noun): a small electronic or mechanical device that performs calculation

ex: There is a calculator in my phone.

nerd (not a good word): a person considered to be socially awkward, boring, unstylish

ex: My brother is a nerd, he sits in his room and read comics all day.

After my parents come here, my lips become very tan, maybe my food is very spicy. Actually, now I’m not usually to eat spicy food, but my parents like eat. They cooked very spicy. I told them but the food still spicy. Maybe after they back, I will be better. they cook very salty, I like it, but I’m not very healthy recently. There is no uncomfortable in your body. I always think i’m not very well, maybe I’m very worried.

After my parents came here, my lip colour became darker, maybe because my food was too spicy. To be honest, now I don’t like to eat spicy food, but my parents like to eat it so they cook with lots of spices.  I told them about my condition, but the food is still spicy. Maybe after they leave, I will be better. The food is very salty, I like it but I’m not very healthy recently. There’s nothing wrong with my body, but I always think that i’m not very well, maybe I’m too worried.

My boss will quit from my company and this afternoon, he told my colleagues and me. I think it’s fine because after he leave out company, we will work as usual. I come here this company not very long, our relationship is very normal. But my colleagues told me he is together with our another colleague, and the woman has one daughter with her ex-husband. The woman is older than my boss. Now his money is very poor, his new company can pay more money for him, so he left.

This afternoon, my boss told my colleagues and I that he My boss will quit from the company and this afternoon, he told my colleagues and me. I think it will be fine because after he leaves the company, we will work like usual. I’ve only been with the company for 6 months, my relationship with the boss is very normal/simple. But my colleagues told me that he is together with/dating one of our colleagues, and the woman has one daughter with her ex-husband. The woman is older than my boss. Now his salary is very low, his new company will pay him more, so he will leave us.
