Vocabulary

1.well-rounded= 全方面发展
ex: All parents want their kid to be well-rounded.

2. feel bad= 内疚
ex: they don’t even feel bad if they know they have mistaken you.

3. based in= work there for good
ex: she is based in Paris but she comes to Shanghai once in a while.

4. for good= for a long time/ permanent
ex: I want to stay in Shanghai for good.
ex: Is your French colleague staying here for good? No, he will be leaving in a week.

5. pick up my call =接我电话
ex: they don’t even want to pick up her call.

Tonight, I was invited to a dinner with some senior leaders. That was a little embarrassed for me because I’m not senior enough to have dinner with them. A global colleague came here for one week, our CEO planned welcome dinner for him. Why I was invited was because my director won’t attend the dinner, then the CFO said please come with us. I don’t know the French colleague, I never met him before. I don’t know how to choose the topics to talk with him.
