Grammar

  • Has questions about Past Tense Grammar.
  • Had / Has —-> the ‘soft’ past tense – to have + (verb) past participle= I have walked, She has run, He has eat, ate, eaten, to describe things which did not happen entirely at once.

Past Tense has Different Styles:

  1. Simple Past = Actions are FINISHED, what is done and completed already, examples are: He read a book yesterday. She finished the test. I finished my dinner…Ā

Simple Past with the (verb) To do: the most basic action verb. examples….

-Lily, Did you do your homework? = two verbs of To Do ….

I didn’t do my homework. = two verbs, Same or different verbs?Ā

Subject + Past tense (Verb) To do (NEGATIVE=Not) +(verb) to do + possessive pronoun+ Object =I didn’t do my homework.

example.

I began to teach Lily how to play softball. = the Past, because the first verb is Past.

subject + verb(past) + regular/infinitive form + how to (conjunction) +regular/infinitive form + object.

I am showing Lily what she did wrong.

More Grammar: Possessive Pronouns: Their function is to say that the things belong to somebody. Belonging. These are my things/possessions (to possessive).

  1. I = my
  2. You = Your
  3. He = His
  4. She = Her / Hers—>what is object ?
  5. We = Our / Ours—>what is object ?
  6. They = Their / Theirs
