Today we talked about the importance of studying hard for exams. We focused on avoiding double topical subjects (e.g. My son he is studying)

It’s important to practice using adjectives ending with ‘ed’ and ‘ing’. Remember that most adjectives ending with ‘ing’ describe the characteristic and most adjectives ending with ‘ed’ describe the feeling. Think about 3 things in your own life and try to describe them with adjectives like this.

Vocabulary

Show off (verb phrase) – This can be a little negative because it often means that you are pretending to be better than you really are.
Tony was lifting weights in front of the girls because he wanted to show off.

Impress (verb) – do gain the respect or admiration of others
Tina studied hard to impress her parents.

Place (verb) – to put something or someone in a place
I was placed in a school when I was a teenager

exam (noun) – more common and less formal than ‘examination’.
My sun is preparing for the exam

Pronunciation

Realized – make sure you say the /d/ sound at the end of the word

Grammar
