Grammar

Vocabulary

At – small places ( I arrived at the office)
In – big places (I arrived in Shanghai)

Exaggeration – to make something seem bigger or more than it is
Examples of idiomatic exaggerations
My trip to Iceland will cost me an arm and a leg
I am so hungry I could eat a horse
I had a big breakfast so I’m just a little peckish

Wish – for something if there’s no chance or a small chance of getting it
I wish I could have a baby next year

Hope – for something if there’s a bigger chance
I hope I can have a holiday

Expect – something that we think really will happen
I expect to have dinner with my boyfriend tonight

Pronunciation

Treat – sounds like sweet

Trait – sounds like gate

Parents – pe rins
