Privatize – to make something privately owned
eg. When China opened its economy, many companies were privatized.
Tariffs – a tax put on a specific good
eg. Trump wants to put tariffs (tax) on Chinese goods.
reciprocate – doing similar actions to each other
eg. My sister gave me a gift, so I wanted to reciprocate the nice deed.
Impose – to forcefully put a law or rule against someone/a good
eg. The government decided to impose a tax on foreigners to make more money from tourism.
Adverse – bad, unfavorable
eg. I made a bad decision, so it had an adverse affect.
Implement – (similar to execute) to put something in place or carry out something
eg. My job is to implement ideas from our managers/My job is to make sure ideas are properly implemented.
Intellect – a persons smarts/how smart a person
Intellectual – a smart person/brilliant
Dispute – argument over something specific
Filter – something that cleans/prevents something from going through
eg. A water filters helps to clean the water
eg. President trump doesn’t have any filter for what he says.
An eye for an eye – a threat that if you do something to me, I’ll do something back to you. – The whole world will be blind.
