Vocabulary

Tense – talking about the time something happens (past, present, future)

Mate (British English) – friend
Travel buddy/partner – someone you travel with.

Embassy or consulate 

Rode (past tense of ride)

handlebars – part of a bike/scooter/motorcycle that you hold on to while driving (used to steer)
Steering wheel – a wheel used to control the direction of a car/boat

ditch – a small dug area on the side of the road (where you fell)

Tour – to walk around in a group and see things
Tour guide – the leader of a tour who will tell you about the history/culture/etc

expectations – things to expect or hope will happen

When I was about 6 years old, my mother rode a bike to take me to the school. I sat at the front of the bicycle with my little bag. But my bag with full with a lot of little books or other things. So it made it hard for my mother to hold the handle bars, and suddenly she lost her control and we fell into the ditch. I hurt my right arm, so my mum took me to see my grandfather who was a chinese traditional doctor who could cure my dislocated arm. I just remember screaming in pain and he relocated my shoulder.
