Describe some different foods/drinks you have eaten using the below words we learnt today.


Vocabulary

Genre – type of music, movie, book
eg. The movie I watched was from the romantic genre but had a sad ending

Romantic –  about love

Pasta – Italian noodles

Pesto – a sauce made from basil, garlic, pine nuts, etc

Basil – 罗勒

Smooth – something easy and good to drink; or a surface that is very flat
eg. That ice coffee was so good and smooth
eg. It goes down smooth

Rough –  something hard and un-enjoyable experience; a surface that is not smooth
eg. That bad trip hiking was so rough

Bitter – really strong and bad tasting (opposite of smooth for drinking something)

Acidic – something that has a strong or sharp flavor like lemons or limes

Aftertaste – something that leaves a bad taste in your mouth after you swallow
eg. The aftertaste was terrible

Appetizer – a small dish of food eaten before the main course

Course – a part of a whole meal
eg. a 3 course meal has an appetizer, main dish, and dessert
