Write about how your home country is a double edged sword.


Vocabulary

Fresh in my mind –  something that recently happened or you thought about

难忘 – memorable
eg. Being a student was a very memorable and enjoyable time for me.

Taxes – paperwork about how much money you earned/spent to give to the government
eg. I must finish my taxes soon and sent it to the government or I’ll get charged a fee.

Responsibilities – things that you must take care of
eg. Being an adults comes with a lot of responsibilities.
Partnership – being a partner with someone (everything is shared) – can be a business or relationship
eg. Marriage is a partnership so we must share all the burdens.

Ratio – two numbers compared 1 man : 2 girls = for every 1 man, there is 2 girls (more girls than men)
Age population ratio – 
how many old people vs young people

Vaccine [Vax-cine] – a needle that protects people from getting sick
eg. I will take my kids to HK to get a vaccine next year.

Imported – something that comes from another country

Double edged sword – one side of something is good and the other is bad
eg. I love China, but somethings are not safe so its kind of a double edged sword.

Stumped – to not know the answer to something
eg. She asked me a question and I was stumped and didn’t know what to say.

Ferry – a boat that takes people back and forth to a place
eg . You can take the ferry from Shanghai to Shengsi

Secluded – away from cities/towns/people (hard to get to so less people)
eg. The Island is very secluded so its nice and quiet.
