Vocabulary

Glucose, Sucrose and Fructose
Glucose – 
sugar that our body uses to make energy (from carbs)
Sucrose – processed sugar from sugar cane
Fructose – a natural sugar occurring in fruits and other natural foods

Saturated – to be have absorbed a liquid
Over saturated – to have completely absorbed a liquid and unable to absorb anymore
eg. The towel is completely saturated and can’t absorb anymore water.

Cholesterol – the fat that builds up inside our body usually in veins and arteries.

Opt – to make decision on whether to agree/participate, or refuse/decline in receiving something. (opt in/opting, opt out)
eg. I want to opt in for the companies health insurance plan.
eg. I want to opt out from receiving email newsletters from the Shanghai Korean group.

Instant noodles 

Skim – to take something off the top
eg. I think he was skimming money from the company.
eg. I like to skim the grease off my soup before eat.

Spread – to extend its surface area.

Trans fat – an unhealthy fat often coming from animals or other foods that is very unhealthy for human consumption (increases cholesterol)
Shortening
– the fat from animals used to cook as a replacement for oil
Un/saturated fat – Two kinds of fat occurring in most foods (saturated is more unhealthy)

Incense – a stick burned that often releases a smell. (used at temples mostly as an offering)

Offering – a gift that you give to someone you consider to be higher than yourself (kind, or a god)

Sacrifice – to give something up
