Try to understand the words discriminate, racists, and prejudiced. Write about any experience you have felt or seen others experience.


Vocabulary

Accomplish – to complete something successfully

Wonder – to think about and want to know something

Skiing – 滑雪

Skating (ice) – 滑冰

Jogging – 慢跑 a light run (usually for exercise)
eg. I go jogging every morning to stay healthy

Sprinting – 快跑 to run as fast as you can
eg. I like to watch the sprinters do the 100m run.

Hurdle – something in your way that you must get past (over, around, under, etc)
eg. There is so many hurdles to getting a visa to travel to certain countries.

Industry specific – something that is only understood by people in the same industry
eg. You must be careful with industry specific ‘lingo’ that might confuse others in different industries.

Lingo – words or phrases

Discriminate – to be against a certain group of people and put them at a disadvantage (elderly, women, foreigners)
eg. I was definitely the best person for the job but I didn’t get it because he discriminated against me.
