Vocabulary

Potential – might be, could be (in the future)

Thesaurus – a book that provides synonyms for words

Degree of something – how much or how strong the meaning of it

Cold –> Freezing

Warm –> Hot –> Boiling, melting, scorched

Emphasis/Emphasize – to more focus on a specific part

I couldn’t reach/connect/contact/get a hold of him

Quarter (1/4) – a part of something that is 1/4 or 25% of it, 25 cents (Canada & America), or 15 minutes when used for time
eg. It is a quarter past one (1:15).
eg. I want to buy a quarter of the cake.
eg. Something that uses quarters has 4 parts.

Dread – to not look forward to something, wish you didn’t have to do something
eg. I dread going to work tomorrow morning.

Try – do something for the first time
eg. I want to try to drive fly plane
eg. I want to try spicy hotpot
eg. Would you like to try a …. cookie, snack, etc.

Tried – past tense of try
eg. I tried eating hotpot
eg. Have you tried Jacob’s cookies? There awesome.

Attempt = Try

In the future, I want to try skydiving

Subtitles –  the words that are being spoken

Distill – to take the strong part of something (get rid of the useless stuff and keep the valuable stuff)

Execute – to do or carry out something
eg. I want you to execute this plan or strategy.
