Vocabulary

Arbitrary- there is no concrete reason for why something is the way it is.

e.g. decisions to approve a visa are usually arbitrary, meaning we don’t why it was approved or rejected.

Detrimental- To have increasingly negative effects on something or someone.

e.g. Smoking is detrimental to a person’s health.

Transparency/Transparent- When  someone is upfront about something, they tell the truth.

e.g. The company is very transparent about what happened.

Most of Korean has a weak concept of multiple cultures. When it comese to unfamiliar cultures, most of Korean feel uncomfortable, and start to exclude first no matter what. We have learned we need to help people who is in trouble without his own faults in humanely attitude, however, when we face to refugees directly and hear about social issues, I wonder we can behave as we learend.
