For next class, choose a trending news topic and write a short piece describing its current status, while also providing its back story if necessary.

Bring in work specific vocab to play out scenarios where she would potentially use them.

Cross-cultural communication, how to bridge the gap between Chinese and Western cultures, specifically in a work setting.

Every class, assign a topic where Carolyn will prepare a short written piece, and then go through it together the following class.

(Bring up references to main stream Western culture, or things that are trending right now. i.e. TV series, books, movies, news, etc.)

Cross-cultural communication- Understanding the different practices and behaviors of other cultures and communicating effectively.

e.g.  All new employees must undergo cross-cultural communication training before they relocate to Japan, so that they understand potential clients.
