Pronunciation

Assign -> pronounce your S’s clearly, don’t pronounce them as Z’s (with some exceptions)

Try to speak slower and more deliberately. Try to think about the idea you want to convey, instead of translating each Chinese word into English. It’s ok to pause when speaking to think.

Vocabulary

elderly – older people, usually age 60+

Engaging – something that really captures your attention

Immersive (adj.) immerse (verb) – something that can make you forget about everything else and even where you currently are and gives you an intense experience. Example: I bought a new Ipad this weekend and I was immersed in it all weekend.

Cumbersome – a word used to describe a situation where you have a lot of things and it can be difficult to carry or to have with you.

Portable – something that can easily be taken with you.

Score – in context of a TV show or movie, the score is the background music in the show.

Grammar

You are not young people. -> You are not a young person. (singular or plural agreement between subject and object)

I really think it is changed my life. -> I really think it has changed my life. -> present perfect tense

I saw the scoring is high on the website, even though only 4 episodes it already got a high scoring. -> I saw the high rating on the website, even though there have only been 4 episodes so far, it already received a high rating.

You have used to that. -> You are used to that.

You can imagine that I have a whole week workshop with French colleagues. I would just escape from it just now. -> You can imagine how difficult my week is since I’m in a workshop with French colleagues all week. I escaped from it just now.

It only take half an hour drive here. So I arrive at office at 7:20. -> It only took half an hour to drive here. So I arrived at the office at 7:20.
