Days With Frog and Toad: The Hat

On Toad’s birthday, Frog surprised him with a hat. Frog said sorry because the hat was so big that it covered Toad’s eyes. Frog wanted to give him something else but Toad said he liked the hat and he will wear it.

Then they went for a walk but Toad tripped over a rock. Then he bumped into a big tree. Next, he fell into a hole. Toad said it was a very sad birthday.

Frog told Toad to think about big thoughts when he slept that night so his head will grow bigger. Toad that it was a smart idea.

When Toad went to bed that night he thought about oak trees, mountains with snow, and giant sunflowers.

When Toad fell asleep, Frog went into his house quietly to get the big hat.

Frog went home and shrunk the hat by pouring some water on it then dried it in a warm place. Then Frog brought the hat back to Toad’s house.

The next morning Toad tried on his hat again and it was the perfect size. He hurried to Frog’s house and told him the good news.

Finally it was a good day after Toad’s birthday.
