Use the vocabulary below in a story about your favorite memory about your dog.

Vocabulary

lap dog – little dog that sits in your lap perfectly
purse dog – little dog that sits in a purse perfectly

bond n. – a close connection joining two or more people or even animals (relationship)
eg. Celeste has a strong bond with/to her dog.

collar/s n. – necklace for dogs
leash/es n. – long rope for dog owners to attach to collars to take their dogs on walks

street dog/s n. – dogs that were born on the streets
stray dog/s n. – a pet that no longer has a home or cannot find its home

 euthanize sth or put sth down v. – to kill an animal because it is very old or sick or because there is no one to take care of it
eg. Celeste’s dog was very old so her mom decided to put her down so she wouldn’t suffer anymore pain.

eg. I would be scared before my death.

dead -adj
eg. Your pet is not dead. Your pet is alive.

drown / drowning / drowned (-d) v. – to (cause to) die by being unable to breathe underwater
eg. She drowned in the lake because she couldn’t swim.
