Vocabulary

catch a cold = get sick 

I catch a cold every season. = I get sick every season.
I am catching a cold right now. = I am getting sick right now (when your throat or head starts to hurt or when your nose starts to run a little or when your nose is a little stuffed)
I caught a cold. / I still have a cold.  = I got sick. (you can say this when you are still sick)
Celeste will catch a cold/will get sick if her students come to school sick.

I caught a cold because my daughter gave/passed it to me = I caught a cold because my daughter infected me.
got sick because my daughter sneezed on me / coughed on me / kissed me

How do you get over your cold?
eg. I drink/take cough medicine / cough syrup. 

What else do you do? No  Nothing, I only take cough medicine.

Actually, I get lots of rest, drink lots of liquids, and eat lots of soup.
