Analysis a trend in advertising industry

In past 10 years, advertising industry was prosperous in China. More and more brand realized the importance of advertising and marketing. At the same time, many senior managers leave their big companies and opened their own businesses. So many small agencies make the industry’s competition more and more fiercely. Clients have more choices, not only famous agency. They will compare the quotation, service quality and respond speed with different agencies.

Although the market demands is growing bigger and bigger, but fierce competition make many big agency feel unstable and stressed. For example, agency can’t get considerable profits than before, the staff turnover rate and the management cost are higher than before. These phenomenon seems that the advertising agencies become more harder to survive in the industry.

Besides, with the development of technology and network, digital marketing change the trend of traditional advertising. Traditional advertising would not play the main role in this industry. Big data will take more important role in marketing and advertising.

I have 3 years experience in digital marketing agency. I think the advertising industry is always changeable. Many people think digital marketing and big data will replace the traditional advertising. However, it doesn’t. Traditional advertising still share a big part of market share.

In my last job interview, one of the interviewers asked me a question about the trend of advertising industry. I said we need to combine the online and offline activities. Traditional agencies and digital agencies would die if they live alone.

So in my opinion, advertising industry still has well prospects though it is harder to survive.
