Review class notes including practicing the words in pronunciation.


In today’s class we used the book: The Usbourn Big Book of English Words. Pages 3-4 [we didn’t cover the bottom pictures: trampoline, butterfly, wasp, etc]

We also looked at:

  • days of the week,
  • months
  • Prepositions of time

Vocabulary

beard 胡须 noun. Men have beards, women don’t have beards.

relaxed 轻松的 adjective. I feel relaxed when I answer a question. I feel relaxed when I go to bed. Andy feels relaxed when he gets his hair cut.

2017 = two thousand and seventeen or twenty seventeen

2000 = two thousand


Grammar

What days do you go to school on? From Monday to Friday.

What day is it the day after tomorrow? The day after tomorrow is Tuesday.

What day was it, the day before yesterday? The day before yesterday was Friday.


My birthday is in September. [for months use in]

My birthday is on the 18th of September. [for days use on]

What will you do at 2 o’clock? At 2 o’clock I am going home.

What year we in?  We are in the year 2017.


Where is the bird? One is on the chimney, and one is on the house.

Where is the car? The car is in the garage.

What is he doing on the barbecue? He is barbecuing the meat.

What does a lawnmower do? The lawnmower cuts the grass.

What do we do in the dinning room? We can eat breakfast / lunch / dinner in the dinning room.

How can we get to the house?

Open the the gate, go through the gate and then close the gate behind you. Walk up the path, then go up the steps, and open the front door.

What can we do in the living room? In the living we can watch TV (television), and play games.

What can we do in the kitchen? In the kitchen we can cook food.

What can we do in the bathroom? In the bathroom, we can take a shower / bath.

What do we use the watering can for? We can use the watering can to water the flowerbed.

What can you do in the bedroom? I can go to sleep in my bed, in my bedroom.

Where is the watering can? It’s next to the shed.

How can I get to the roof? Go up the stairs.

Where is the ladybird? It’s on the bush.

In the summer, I sleep under a sheet in my bed.

In the winter, I sleep under a duvet.

I rest my head on the pillow.

We use the washing machine to wash the clothes.

We use a wardrobe to hang up the clothes.

We pull down the blind to hide the sunlight 阳光.

We can turn on a torch to find something in the dark at night.

I use a comb to comb my hair.

I use a toothbrush to clean my teeth.

How do you clean your teeth? I put some toothpaste on my toothbrush, and brush my teeth.

Turn on / off the tap.
