The process was very quick for me.

My water broke (v) at noon and I gave birth to my baby at 4pm.
It took me 4 hours from my water breaking … <- concept
It took me 4 hours from the time my water broke (<— time concept) to my baby’s birth. 

Maybe different person have different effect. It doesn’t effect on some of my friends
Maybe different people have different reactions. It doesn’t have such a big effect/It is not so/as effective on some of my friends.
