My favourite movie
I have seen many movies in my life, but if you ask me which one is my favourite, I would say ‘Totoro’. It is a Japanese animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It was made in 1988, four years before I was born, but I first saw it with my cousin when I was about eight. At that time in our little county, watching film was like a luxury. However, since my family bought a computer, I had this valuable chance to watch different films. I still remembered the day when my cousin came to my house, suggesting us watch the film ‘Totoro’. She said it was her favourite. As I always listened to her, we watched the film together. My cousin has been like my best friend and my elder sister who accompanied me the most during my childhood. Maybe that is the reason why I like this movie the most, because it is the first movie we have watched together! It represents the happiest moments of my childhood! After all these years, whenever I see or hear the name ‘Totoro’, I would think of my cousin. Now that she has got married and is a mother of two, we have been talking less than before. But nothing will erase our past happy moments. What’s more, every time we talk with each other, we wouldn’t feel the distance. It seems we have always been each other’s blood relatives!

Q: What are your political views? What kind of govt do you believe in?
A: I think China’s one-party system is suitable for Chinese status. Some Westerners blamed that the Chinese doesn’t care for humanity, human rights but from where I’m standing and my own exp, I think Chinese policymakers are doing a very good job, esp during the COVID19. Because of the one party system, we are a nation, we are one, we can pull the strings and make every effort to overcome difficulties. Some Western policymakers and media also blame China’s strict censorship but I believe that every country has its own way to censor. As they are saying some awful words about China, they should first look at themselves. The censorship plays a very important role in a country’s management, because people easily influenced by mass media, and to change their views about their own government, which I think isn’t good for a country’s govt. Every country should have a core belief. That is the core to overcome difficulties.
