Vocabulary

characterize: (verb) gei something te zheng

as opposed to: 而不是
ie.  I like to stay at home as opposed to going outside.

lingo: professional talk that normal people don’t understand
ie. The geeks at the Apple Store spoke lingo that I couldn’t understand.

pick up strawberries

These days the weather is really very good and the virus is better than before. Our family began to go outside at weekends. Of course, we still pay attention to protect ourselves. We choose some large places and don’t gather .

The last few weekend we went to Fengxian district to pick up strawberries. The place was so large. At the gate of strawberry fields, the owner will give you a small basket and you can go to the warm sheds by yourself.There was several sheds for you to choose and you could pick up the field which you liked.

After you picked up, the owner would check the weight and then you paid it. After that, you could take them home.

On the site,the owner provided you water and also you could wash the strawberries immediately. My two kids washed them themselves.

It had a big grassland besides the strawberry fields, our friends and us ,we three families had a picnic on it. We built a tent and did some simply cooking for high tea, sitting together. Our kids flied kites and blew the bubbles, and also ran around the place. They all felt happy.

Both adults and child enjoyed ourselves.

Picking Strawberries

These days the weather is really incredible and the virus situation is better than before/virus got more under control. Our family began to go outside on the weekends. Of course, we still pay attention/are still cautious/careful to protect ourselves. We would/usually choose large places and  not gather/refrain from gathering.

The last few weekends, we went to Fengxian district to pick strawberries. The place was so large. At the gates of strawberry fields, the owner will give you a small basket and you can go to the hothouses by yourself. There were several sheds for you to choose from and you could pick the field (that) you liked.

After you picked the berries, the owner would check the weight and let you pay for them. After that, you could take them home.

On the site, the owner provided you with water so you could wash the strawberries immediately. My two kids washed the berries by themselves.

There was a big grassland beside the strawberry fields. Our family, along with two friend’s families/our three families, had a picnic in the field. Sitting down together, we built a tent and did some simple cooking for high tea. Our kids flied kites and blew bubbles, and also ran around the field. They all felt happy.
