Vocabulary

Bachelor’s Degree (n): 1- a degree that is given to a student by a college or university usually after four years of study. 2- 学士学ä½
E.g.: He has a bachelor’s degree in History.

Master’s Degree (n): 1- a degree that is given to a student by a college or university usually after one or two years of additional study, after you finish your bachelor’s degree. 2- 硕士
E.g.: Raph is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Fudan University.

Doctorate (n): 1- the highest degree that is given by a university. 2- åšå£«å­¦ä½
E.g.: I will not pursue a doctorate after I finish my master’s.

Multiple (adj): 1- very many of the same type, or of different types.
E.g.: The young man died of multiple burns.

Multinational (adj): 1- involving several different countries, or (of a business) producing and selling goods in several different countries.
E.g.: He works for a multinational company.

Volunteer (n): 1- a person who does something, especially helping other people, willingly and without being forced or paid to do it.
E.g.: The Health clinic is relying on volunteers to run the office and answer the phones.

Today is Laba festival. Most of the people will eat Laba rice porridge on this day. The tradition what is originated from Song dynasty. Until now, that have been continued more than 1 thousand years. From the king to the people will eat Laba rice porridge what was commemorated the Buddha Shakyamuni. People also organized some activities in different area on that day. Generally speaking: the Laba festival is start of Chinese New Year.
On the other hand, some of people who don’t like these traditional festival. Perhaps they prefer foreign festival.
