    The main reason for the difference is that Americans use verbal greetings and the Japanese use nonverbal greetings.

    The traditional rule is young people have to be introduced first.
  3. How do Americans usually introduce themselves?
    Generally, elderly people are introduced first.
  4. Why are most Japanese people who come to America confused while they are greeted with “How is it going”?
    Most Japanese people who come to America are confused whether they should respond or not.
  5. Is it important to “do as Romans do” as far as greeting culture is concerned? Why?
    It is important to “do as the Romans do” when greeting in other countries and cultures because it is respectful. I am learning English, French, and Spanish because I want to go to the U.S., England, France, and Spain and easily communicate with the locals.
