One of the reasons for writing in my diary was to remember some special things. I worried that I would lose my memories about my life in Japan when I would go back to China, because I am very forgetful. There were a lot of special experiences in my life and I should not forget them. I have continued to write in my diary for about five years. But suddenly one day I realized my memories will never disappear even if I don’t write them down in my diary. The memories are still inside my head. I just need time to remember them. So, I stopped writing in my diary.

I have stopped writing in my diary for five years. Of course I had a lot of interesting stories to be able to write in these five years but I just thought it is not necessary to write them down in my diary. I realized that some important things are always saved in my brain like a computer and I never lost my memories. I have been beginning my new diary from  my children were born because I thought I must write everything in my diary about my children. Before my daughter was born I bought a new diary to start writing about her in my diary even she was still in my wife’s belly/womb. My daughter is my first baby and she made me very happy when she was born.
