Vocabulary
preposition – short words, used before nouns, used as modifiers of verbs, nouns, or adjectives, and that express a spatial(space), temporal(time), or other relationship, as in, on, by, to, since.
quote N. – the exact words that someone said.
eg: “I can’t remember any famous quotes.” “There’s a quote from a famous book, it says, “Success is the mother of failure.” or “Failure is the mother of invention.”
paraphrase – to repeat what someone said or what was written, but not in the exact words
eg: “He paraphrased a lot of other president’s speeches in his speech.
ill-prepared – not prepared well
ill-informed – not informed well
ill-equipped – not equipped well
wrap your mind around it – to fully understand something, inside and out.
eg: “It’s hard to wrap your mind grammar, it’s easier to just remember it.”
