What Made My Wife Upset?
On Monday night, I received my wife’s message on wechat while I was playing football with my friends. She was very angry and upset because she found that our daughter, Amy had lied to us.
When I back to home, my wife was shouting at Amy and was gone to cry almost. I told her that she had to be more patient and not yell at her any more like that. My wife started to be angry with me.
OK, let’s start from the beginning.
Last week, Amy told us that she was the section monitor in Music in her class and would attend a singing contest as an accentor between with her class and other 5 classes of Grade One next Monday. Both of us were very happy about it. We bought a yellow dress for her as she demanded that she told us it was her music teacher asked for. We had asked her which song they would sing. She said that she forgot the name, but told us four lyrics. We were all looking forward to it.
Before dinner on Monday night, she told us her class won the contest and her teacher praised her. My wife and I were very excited and proud of her.
After I went to the football field, my wife talked about it with two neighbors who were Amy’s classmates’ mothers on phone and got the truth: No a sing contest at all. She made up everything. My wife could not accept it and became very angry.
I felt very incredible and funny. It sounded very intact and logical of the sing contest and was unbelievable that a 6.5-year-old child made up.
“Why did you made up it?” I asked her.
“I want to get more of your favor and praise…” after a long silence, she said with a very small voice.
“Of course we all love you very much whether you win or not, you can’t lie anytime.” I said.
I had to talk with my wife after Amy slept.
