Last week, I went to Hong Kong for business trip. Usually, I do not need to travel because I focus on internal project. Recently, we started a new POS project which aim to launch a new POS system based on website. Since we only have one team member who responsible for POS system, our departments is shorthanded on this project. Our project team need to help the team member for project implementation.
The business trip lasts 4 days. We need to conduct user acceptance testing in 2 Hong Kong stores. I was responsible for a store in city gate outlet. Usually, every store has a back warehouse which is used for keeping inventory. We needed to conduct UAT in this back warehouse. Temperature in it is so low that I felt very cold after taking 10 hours long testing. In the second day, I had to buy a hoodie to keep warm.
During three days of testing, users test nearly all functions of new POS system. At beginning, they thought functions are the same as old POS and only a few of improvements are made in the system. Actually, they wanted to see some more upgrade of function and performance in this system. I explained to them that this was the first upgrade phase for the system and there were also some new functions different from old system. We would make some improvements for functions and performance in near future.
