Paul Kalanithi, The famous American neurosurgeon, writer.

When Paul was about to reach the top of his life, he was diagnosed with cancer. He wrote about his life with caner and died two years later. And this book called “When Breath Becomes Air.”

When we are in good health, we are less to think about life and death. Before Paul had cancer, when he treated patients he found that all pain had a physical cause, In fact, we are a body composed of a piece of meat, our subjective consciousness is determined by objective factors. But when you are sick, in addition to physical pain, there are psychological changes. Even a doctor pray to God when he was sick. Even the most rational person believes in nothing.

Paul was very optimistic. He went to the hospital to operate on a patient when he had cancer, and had a daughter. His daughter and wife gave him a lot of encouragement and courage. So for the last two years he was at peace. He was not pollyanna, because Pollyanna the next second may be overwhelming.

Words are as light as the air which people are spoken. In the face of life and death, all is in vain, only to face life.
